As a co-producer of the film and the creator of the official Roblox experience alongside PAN Européenne, RIVRS is reaching a historic milestone. This project is more than just our largest production to date; it is a manifesto for a new way of storytelling.

The challenge: Evolution from "simulator" to epic RPG

After years of success developing Simulator-style games, we felt the ambition to reach a new level. For a franchise as rich and beloved as The Legendaries, we needed a format capable of carrying its epic scope.
The choice of an RPG (Role-Playing Game) was a natural evolution. While more demanding and technically complex, it offers infinitely richer narrative possibilities. Moving into the RPG genre marks a strategic turning point for our studio, proving our ability to manage deep game mechanics and expansive virtual worlds.

Total creative immersion

On a creative level, the RPG format granted us incomparable freedom. We didn’t just build sets; we developed a living universe.

  • Faithful environments: Directly inspired by the film’s art direction for perfect visual consistency.
  • Heroic embodiment: Every mechanic was designed so the player isn't just a visitor, but truly becomes a Hero of Alysia.
  • Artistic authenticity: We worked in close collaboration with the original creator, Patrick Sobral, ensuring that every creature, world, and interaction remains faithful to the spirit of the saga.
Business & platform strategy: Why Roblox is the new cinema

While traditional TV campaigns struggle to reach 8–16-year-olds, industry figures speak for themselves: successes like Sonic Speed Simulator or the integration of Barbie into Livetopia have shown that Roblox can generate hundreds of millions of touchpoints even before a theatrical release.
By choosing the RPG format for The Legendaries, RIVRS is not just aiming for visibility, but for deep engagement. Where a TV spot lasts 30 seconds, an RPG player will spend an average of 20 to 30 minutes per session immersed in our universe.
The facts are clear: the target audience for animated films (Gen Z and Gen Alpha) has largely moved away from traditional television. To capture their attention today, a trailer is no longer enough.
On Roblox, simulators allow for rapid user acquisition, but often face limited retention. Conversely, a well-designed RPG encourages players to explore, bond with the environment, and return regularly.
By offering a durable and evolving experience, we are creating a virtuous circle of engagement:

  • The game introduces the universe and engages the community starting January 21
  • Roblox engagement builds an irrepressible desire to see the movie on January 28
  • The film strengthens the emotional bond, driving spectators back into the game to prolong the adventure
A landmark collaboration with PAN Européenne

This project is the result of months of intensive work and a unique synergy with Nathalie Gastaldo, Hélène Germain, and Camille Gentet at PAN Européenne.
